Borrow a Thermal Imaging Camera and Reduce Your Energy Bills
Our homes account for 22% of UK carbon emissions, and with rising energy bills, finding where your home is losing heat makes a difference to the planet and your wallet.
Wellington Town Council has purchased two thermal imaging cameras which town residents can borrow from the library in Fore Street to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
The cameras are easy to use. Download the app, plug the camera into your phone or tablet, and off you go.
One camera operates with the universal USB-C power connector that fits Androids.
One works with older iPhones with an eight-point Lightning connector.
Another camera works with iPhone models 15 or later that have a USB-C port.
You can also use the FLIR One app to produce a thermographic report to send to experts in wall, roof and window insulation.
The thermal imaging cameras will be available to borrow from the library in the colder months from October to March because to detect heat loss accurately, they require a temperate differential of 10° Centigrade between the inside and outside of a building.
