Halloween – Downloadable “No Trick or Treat” Poster

Halloween – Downloadable “No Trick or Treat” Poster

Halloween is just one week away and while it is a fun time for many, not everyone wants to take part and the festivities can leave some feeling anxious.

We have created the poster below for those who do not want trick or treaters at their door. It is free and easy to use: just right click to save the poster, print it at home, then put it in a visible place on Halloween night, such as your door or window.

Parents are encouraged to teach their children that if they see this poster or a house with no Halloween decorations that they should leave the house alone.

If you have older children that may be trick or treating in a group with their friends, make sure that they are not taking any flour or eggs with them, we don’t want any antisocial behaviour ruining the night!

Neighbourhood Sergeant Jon O’Connor said, “Our team will be on patrol on Halloween night to engage with trick or treaters, deter any anti-social behaviour and ensure everyone has a safe evening. This is traditionally a busy night for the Police, but please do report any incidents on 101 so that we can respond as quickly as possible whilst in the area. I would encourage anyone not wanting any callers to their door, to print and display the attached poster and I would urge any would-be trick or treaters to respect these posters where displayed.”

There are many reasons that someone may not want to welcome trick or treaters from religious beliefs, PTSD, poor health, anxious pets, or lack of disposable income for sweets. All we ask is that you respect the wishes of your neighbours and make sure that everyone has a safe and fun night.

Sorry, no trick or treat. This house will not answer the door to trick or treaters, please do not knock or ring the bell. Thank you for respecting our wishes.
