Open Spaces Team

We have fantastic opportunities available as we are looking for people to join our new Open Spaces Team in Wellington.

This is an exciting time to be joining Wellington Town Council.  From 1 April 2025 we will be taking on responsibility for most of the open spaces in Wellington including Wellington Park, the Recreation Ground, The Playing Field and play areas in the town. We are already responsible for the 64 acre Green Corridor land that runs from Tonedale to The Basins and on to Rockwell Green. It is likely that in the future we will be taking on more land in new developments around the town as they are built.

We are looking for people who can work on their own initiative, take pride in their work and are willing to go the extra mile to make Wellington a great place to live, work and visit.

We are looking for:

Open Spaces Team Leader

£30,559 – £33,366

To lead the team on a day to day basis ensuring that the work programme is delivered to a high standard and that the open spaces in Wellington are well maintained and safe.

Open Spaces Operatives x 2

£28,163 – £30,060

To undertake duties around the town maintaining and developing our open spaces to a high standard.

All posts will require previous experience of working in an open spaces/grounds maintenance environment.
