The Rivertones Chorus. Acapella, harmony, variety. ‘‘ACAPELLA FOR FELLAS’’ Free 6-Week Singing Course The Rivertones Chorus, based at Obridge in Taunton and who recently entertained everyone at the Eat:Wellington Festival are looking for new singers from in and around the Taunton, Wellington, West Somerset and Sedgemoor areas - and beyond. The only all-male acapella harmony chorus in Somerset, (who incidentally hold an extra rehearsal in Wellington on Tuesdays in the Community Centre, White Hart Lane), they have members from all over the county - and even over the border in Devon - and are looking to swell their ranks. It is pretty well established now that singing with others on a regular basis can bring significant benefits to a person’s mental health and general wellbeing. And the bonus is, it’s fun and gives huge satisfaction especially when performing in village venues, major shows in and around the area as well as being proud to sing at somebody’s wedding, either as part of the ceremony itself or during the social celebrations. The Rivertones' four-part harmony repertoire songs include amongst others Can You Feel The Love Tonight, To Make You Feel My Love, Cabaret, When Somebody Loves Me, Take Me Home Country Roads and Hallelujah. They have recently been performing and demonstrating how they create their unique sound in various venues, including at Taunton Minster, in the lead up to the start of a no cost (free!) fully funded six-week men’s harmony singing course in Taunton, called Acapella for Fellas, commencing on October 24th. Men of all ages and abilities are welcome. Why not bring a friend or two? For further information/registration, visit their website or Facebook pages: www.therivertones.org.uk www.facebook.com/rivertoneschorus
